NGV 2010 Roma: the great international event, at the right time

This year, two million NGVs will join the world fleet

This figure, estimated by various analysts, represents almost 54% more than the 1,300,000 units that were added to the global fleet in 2009, as published by The GVR.

In this context of promising prospects, NGV 2010 Roma will be held on June 8-10. The international character of the 12th IANGV Biennial Conference and Exhibition should be noted, as it makes possible the attendance of delegates from all five continents. All markets will thus be represented and each will be able to make the most of the business potential brought about by the Expo.

Voices from the world

Over 80 abstracts were submitted for the Conference. The different nationalities of the authors reflect the universal spirit of the event. So far, the proportion of foreign to Italian speakers is 8 to 1, resulting in a multiplicity of visions and themes.

A large number of abstracts were received from the Asia-Pacific region (from countries such as Bangladesh, India, China, Korea, Iran, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand).

Globalized industry

Expectations regarding NGV 2010 Roma continue to grow with each passing day. So much so that five months before the Conference and Expo, 87% of the stands have already been sold.

Of the 60 companies that have already taken their spaces in the Expo, 30% are local companies and 70 % are from abroad. Historically, in events like this, the relationship between participants from the host country and from the rest of the world is 50/50. A similar percentage is also applicable to visitors and exhibitors. However, this must-attend industry meeting has aroused exceptionally diverse interest.

Italian hallmark

Apart from the marked international character of NGV 2010 Roma, its local sponsors also show the strong commitment of Italian companies to the event.

Eni (integral energy company, closely involved in the development of natural gas) is its main supporter.

Bronze sponsors are Landi Renzo (producer of NGV & LPG systems), BRC FuelMaker (manufacturer of NGV fuelling systems) and Trambus (public transport company in the city of Rome).

The host country, therefore, welcomes members of the global industry with open arms.

Beyond the Mediterranean

Under such favourable conditions, it is not surprising that visitors from across the Mediterranean have already pre-registered online to go round the Expo halls.

Visitors from African nations such as Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, South Africa and Nigeria, will be attending an event of this kind for the first time, interested and attracted by its huge implications. Nigeria also submitted an abstract, which will be evaluated by the Papers Committee.

Literally "the international event of the year" awaits you in the Eternal City.
