A prosperous year is arriving with NGV Roma 2010
2009 is coming to an end, a year of global crisis during which NGV was nevertheless able to make its way and keep on growing. According to statistics from The GVR, 1.3 million methane vehicles were added while 1,700 filling stations were opened worldwide.
The financial barriers slowed down the progress in various national markets. However, the NGV industry continued to research, develop new products and technologies and the global annual growth remained a two-digit figure. Likewise, several analysts predict an even better 2010 with more than 2 million additional NGVs to be added to the world’s transport fleets.
Italy in particular, the cradle of “metano per auto”, testifies that a crisis creates opportunities: according to preliminary numbers, in 2009 over 130,000 OEM NGVs were sold – more than 6 percent of all the vehicles sold on the Peninsula.
As the IANGV Executive Director, Brett Jarman, has said "for the NGV segment, a trip to Italy can be viewed as somewhat a ‘pilgrimage’”. The occasion is this: on June 8-10 2010, in the Nuova Fiera di Roma, trade fair venue in the capital of Italy, NGV2010 Roma will take place, the biennial IANGV meeting, hosted by Consorzio NGV System Italia and with ENI as main supporter.
Conference
The Call for Abstracts will expire at the end of this month. It was a real success: the target was 50 abstracts and we have already received more than 60. They cover wide variety of topics, such as OEM vehicle availability and developments, After-market conversions, Heavy-Duty NG Applications, Industry Trends, Emissions, Global Warming, NG Sales Metering, NGV Standards and Regulations, Industry Safety, Cylinders and Alternative Vehicle Fuel Potentials (Biomethane, Hydrogen, HCNG, LNG, CNG, Hybrid) .
All of this promises a Conference you can’t afford to miss, which is why I recommend you register as delegate as soon as possible: http://www.ngv2010roma.com/en/registration-form.php
Expo
Being part of the exhibition in Rome will consolidate the image of and provide status to exhibitors as well as providing concrete business opportunities. This was recognised by companies from about twenty countries from all continents, with some booking more than 6 months in advance.
Let’s make it clear: this Expo will not receive thousands of curious visitors; instead, it will be the meeting point of the key players of the NGV industry and the springboard to many successful business relationships.
Out of the total space estimated for the exhibition (2,652 m²), 2,130 m2 have already been purchased and reserved. Now, only a little bit above 500 m2 are available. So, while it may seem a trite advertising slogan, I sincerely suggest: Buy Now! The interest and enthusiasm aroused more than six months before the event clearly shows that your company might miss the opportunity to have a stand and regret it later. Gala Dinner
The palace-museum Castel Sant'Angelo welcomes millions of tourists every year. It can be accessed by the bridge of the same name, the most famous of the Roman bridges, built over the Tiber and ornamented with Bernini’s statues. Delegates and Partners’ Program participants will cross that bridge and then will go to the Castel’s terrace. There, they will be served drinks while they contemplate the Vatican and Rome at sunset. After this fantastic pre-game, and to close this exclusive evening on a high note, there will be a dinner at the bastions that crown Sant’Angelo. A rare and unforgettable experience!

Technical Tour
On the day before the opening of the Conference and Exhibition, those interested will take a guided bilingual (Italian-English) tour on an NGV Bus around the site where most of the 400 buses that daily ply Rome are supplied with CNG. Then the tour will continue to a CNG and HCNG refuelling station. http://www.ngv2010roma.com/en/activities.php
More? Yes, there is more. Participants will enjoy the Ecorally Raid, an off-road vehicles competition that will travel around central Italy, departing from the Republic of San Marino and ending at NGV2010 Roma. Furthermore, the IANGV General Assembly and Technical Meetings will also be held. All these activities will be made available through the transfers provided by the organization to the event’s venue from the comfortable Sheraton – the main NGV 2010 hotel, with preferential rates.
Do not hesitate and be a protagonist of this unique event.
Greetings from all those who are working for the success of NGV2010 Roma.
Happy Holidays and see you in Rome next June!
