Join us in Creating a Revolution in Transport in Rome this June

After a shaky year for some in 2009, 2010 already holds great promise as we look ahead to NGV 2010, the 12th IANGV Biennial Conference and Exhibition this June in Rome. What sets this particular event apart from any other is the convergence of time and place. As the NGV industry creates a quiet revolution in the transport industry, we go back to where it all began, Italy, home of the longest established NGV industry in the world.

The Italian NGV industry continues to give us a taste of what’s possible elsewhere. In 2009 more than 130,000 NGVs were purchased off Italian showroom floors, representing more than 6% of new vehicles sold. That’s an outstanding result in one of the most discerning automotive markets in the world and one that could easily be duplicated in other markets.

Evidence of the NGV transport revolution continues to emerge every day. Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne was quoted in the Economist “World in 2010” publication late last year saying, “Natural gas is the only real, immediate alternative to petrol.” And in the heavy-duty sector, Lars Mårtensson, Environmental Director of Volvo Trucks echoed the sentiment saying, “Methane gas is by far the most accessible fuel as an alternative to diesel.”

This is not just small talk. Fiat is already the world’s largest supplier of natural gas vehicles, and Volvo Trucks has promised a Euro V dual-fuel diesel/natural gas engine in their range for this year.

Putting it all together

NGV 2010 brings all the elements of this dynamic global industry together in the right place at the right time. The combination of leading edge conference presentations, more than 2,500 m2 of the latest in product and technology and a solid four days of networking opportunities, makes NGV 2010 a must attend event for this year.

As President of the IANGV, I invite you to join me and be part of this revolution. Whether you are a fleet operator, a government influencer, auto industry engineer, gas industry member or from any other NGV industry or transport sector --no matter what your level of interest--, NGV 2010 is the place to be to find out what (or who) you need to know to make the most of the NGV  opportunity. I can promise that you will look back on your commitment to attend as one of the best decisions you’ll make in 2010.

Vediamoci a Roma in giugno!
